Fringe, Rompers and Jewels on a Budget

It is almost Friday! Looks like we've about made it through another week! I hope all of you academics (students, teachers, moms, or anyone!) have had a successful week of school and are getting back into the groove of things. I was in Target yesterday (weekly outing obviously) and I already saw where they are setting up the Halloween aisles. That means we are officially in the last days of summer (sigh). Instead of getting choked up and crying, I decided to show one of my favorite rompers of the summer and why you can still wear one like it.

I've been sporting the romper ALL summer and I knew when I came across this Elan off the shoulder, fringed romper it would be on rotation this summer. First off, I'm about style but it has to be comfortable. Rompers like this almost feel like pajamas, they are great for grabbing margaritas with the girls, casual date nights, or even class. Super comfy while still looking put together. I also recently bought this navy knot bell back romper (under $100 plus look at that back!) which will be great for fall and also provides a little kick to a somewhat basic piece. I also am obsessing over this romantic romper (under $100), love the dramatic and flattering black with delicate lace detailing. For a fun night out or even just a trip to the movies, this romper has the flattering bell sleeves but breaks up basic black with a soft floral print. If you are afraid of wearing a romper because you think you will look like some type of infant, please don't be! I thought the same thing but with the majority of styles now rompers essentially look like dresses and move that way. Try one like this which has a looser short until you warm up till the full blown romper look.

Now let's talk some jewelry! I have worn this beautiful Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace in several posts lately. I got it from the fall Mystic Bazaar collection (which is amazing!) via the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I'll be honest, I love jewelry and I think everyone should have a few pieces that are designer that you can wear and keep for years. However, it is rare for me to pay over $50 for a single piece. I love necklaces so I am always on the hunt for new styles. I tend to do more minimal jewelry so statement necklaces are usually my centerpiece. I was shocked to see some pieces that looked almost identical to some of my more expensive jewelry like this Kendra Scott inspired necklace from Lucca Lane for $18. Check out these beauties which look exactly like the designer brand ranging from $10-$18 via Gray Monroe. I love Accessory Concierge for great deals and products, in fact I ordered this Wooden Tusk Pendant Necklace ($32) and finally purchased the Leaves of Brass Bracelet ($25) I've been lusting after for weeks. Save up for those special pieces you just can't live without and save on trendier items that you may want just for a few looks or for a season.

Shop today's look below and stay tuned for a special jewelry code I have coming for y'all!

Angel Wings

Happy Thursday (aka one step closer to the weekend!), hope you all are well! This week has been super busy so I haven't gotten the chance to blog as much but don't worry I have some fun posts coming up! Starting today with this look, which has quickly become one of my favorites. I got this beautiful off the shoulder, bell sleeved top from SheIn which has LOTS of options at great prices (I'm talking $10 dresses) from popular styles.

They seem to get mixed reviews at times but you have to realize sometimes you get what you pay for, meaning a $15 top is not going to be as well made as a designer top from Saks. People also worry about shipping and their items arriving. I have ordered several times from the site and have always received my purchases (if you need it asap may not be the best choice, shipping can take a while). Personally, I have been pleased with the clothing and  shop from the site frequently. I would also recommend not ordering lots of clothing at one time (it is tempting!) that way the order gets out faster and less of a chance of things not arriving or getting their in a timely manner. Some of my current favorites are this Navy Crochet Dress (under $15) perfect for a dressy occasion, a cute Graphic Tee (under $11), an adorable Tee (under $12) perfect for Fridays and a beautiful chiffon black lace Romper (under $15) which can be dressed up or down. Keep in mind to look at sizing and I would advise sizing up.

Back to this outfit! I saw this blouse and it looked so romantic and fresh that it had to be added to my closet! I love that the bell sleeves remind me of angel wings. These shorts have been on repeat ALL summer, I like that they have a high waist and are very comfortable (I would also say to size up if you are unsure, brand runs a little small). Throw in a colorful clutch and some fall ready jewels (how great is the Kendra Scott Mystic Bazaar collection?) then add a pair of shades and you are ready to fly! Or drive. Or walk. Whatever your means of transportation is you will be ready in style!

Happy Shopping!

Tube Toping It

Happy Tuesday! I'm sharing a summer staple on the blog today and one that can easily transition into fall with the help of a navy or winter white blazer. A colorful print tube top! I paired mine with some of my favorite denim shorts, a few pink bangles, a tasseled pendant and faux snakeskin sandals for a low-key weekend look with the right amount of flair. This is how I love to wear Lilly Pulitzer, freshening it up and making it more of my own laid back boho side. Don't get me wrong, I love looking a little more preppy but sometimes you want the comfort level but still look cute. You should all know by now I love me some Lilly and if you haven't already, check out the fall line (which includes a mermaid inspired print!) now.

I have been a little busy but I will be posting my back to school picks along with some new music posts tomorrow right here on the blog! While you wait on that, shop the look below!

Blushing Beauty

Hi all! Another Monday in the books and already looking forward to the weekend. It has been HOT everywhere it seems lately (yes, I know its summer!) and while I can't wait to start posting fall looks I just don't feel the need to put on suede boots and leather jackets when it's over 100 degrees outside. With that being said, I have found some of the best end of summer looks that can easily transition into the cooler months ahead! This blush fringed dress practically had me written all over it. Feminine. Boho. Comfy. Soft. Fun details. All of these things describe this dress. I wore it to a movie outing on Friday (fyi you HAVE to check out The Gift...wow just wow) and while I was busy saving a row of seats (I am the constant early arriver of the group) and telling people "No, these are saved!" I got lots of compliments on this little number. A definite hit!

Lots of end of summer sales happening now so keep checking back here and I'll give you my picks and more on what to snatch up on these last days of summer. Meanwhile shop this look below and follow me on Instagram for all the latest details on new outfits, styling tips, music, movies, fitness and everything in between!

Happy Shopping!

Yellow Haze

Yellow has always been one of my favorite colors. I remember seeing Belle from Beauty and the Beast glide down the staircase in the most elegant of Disney entrances in her yellow gown and it instantly became classic. The sunny hue just seemed to pop off the screen. Yellow sometimes scares people, People think it will wash them out but it often can provide the exact opposite effect. Worn correctly and it can instantly brighten your complexion and if you want to stand out in the crowd, yellow is your color! I love this summery, sleeveless dress paired with a flowing, fringe, floral kimono. Kimonos are another one of my go-to accessories in any temperature climate. Adding a kimono can add flair to a basic black dress like this one (under $30). Another favorite look of mine is denim shorts paired with a graphic tee or a plain white tank topped off with a kimono like this. To avoid looking cartoonish I also like simple colors such as black (under $30) or pair a solid color like white or baby blue with a statement kimono. This ensemble is easily in my top 5 outfits I've posted so far. Oh yeah, those shoes? Under $20! The look very familiar to Free People but a fraction of the cost. Get sunny!
